With the new app „Vegan Scanner“ of the young developer Florian Bussmann, a simple check of the ingredients of food is possible. A connection to the Internet is required for the evaluation.


When purchasing groceries in a supermarket you can not always count on the written out ingredients as a vegetarian or vegan. In addition, many of these ingredients are not known to the consumer. A brand new app now saves the protracted research on the Internet.

With the app „Vegan Scanner“ the consumer can easily scan the barcode on the food packaging with his mobile phone camera and receives an appraisal to the product. At first the app was developed especially for vegans, nevertheless, it recognises also whether products fit to the vegetarian requirements. Beside food appraisals also statements about cosmetics products should become possible in close future.
